Management Misunderstanding of Stress in Chicken Cages

Mar 20, 2020
In the day-to-day management of chicken cage chickens, if the farmers are not paying attention, they may cause stress reactions in the flock, which is mainly because of management misunderstandings in those areas.
1. Drinking water and feed: Insufficient drinking water for the chickens or the nutritional imbalance in the feed and unreliable quality are the causes of stress.

2. Feeding density: The density of chickens in cages is much higher than that of flat breeding. The farmers should add the quantity according to the standard feeding density requirements. If the quantity is increased at will and the density is increased, the probability of stress will appear. Will be large, and the greater the density, the more severe it will have a greater impact on chicken productivity.
3. Beak-breaking work: Beak-breaking work must be performed at the chick stage, but beak-breaking is a serious stress for chicks, so this requires farmers to be skilled, fast, and as much as possible when beak-breaking. It is carried out at a young age. In addition, farmers should pay attention to the fact that some people will perform immunization and beak-cutting at the same time in order to reduce the stress at the same time. This is not desirable, because it will increase the degree of stress.
4. Chick transport: Farmers are also prone to stress during the process of transporting chicks to the broiler house after purchasing hatchlings. The transport, movement, and long-distance transport of chicks will consume their physical strength and water. It is a serious stress.
5. Vaccination: Vaccination is an important means to prevent infectious diseases, and it is indispensable, but no matter which way the vaccination is, it is a stress.
6. Disease stress: If the chickens are chronically or recessively infected with certain bacteria, viruses or internal and external parasitic diseases during the process of breeders, this is due to the relative balance between the body and these pathogens, which becomes chronic or Subclinical asymptomatic infection.
The above are some breeding management misunderstandings that have caused stress in the chicken flocks in the process of raising chickens in cages.
